Our Past

Starting Out

The organization first opened as a part of the City of Sheboygan in 1970 as the Sheboygan Senior Center.

U.S. Naval Reserve Building

The organization bounced around Sheboygan in a variety of locations until settling into the U.S. Naval Reserve Building at 428 Wisconsin Avenue in 1996. It grew steadily at its Wisconsin Avenue building, rebranding in 2007 to become the Senior Activity Center of Sheboygan.

Save-A-Lot Building

When maintenance issues caused significant safety concerns in 2020, the Wisconsin Avenue building was retired from use. The City of Sheboygan purchased the former Save-a-Lot grocery store building at 1817 N. 8th Street to become the new home of the organization, under a new name, Uptown Social.

Our Future

Our future is bright! Since opening our doors to the public in November 2022, our membership has climbed to over 1200 members. We are actively fundraising to complete our gymnasium sooner than expected. If you are interested in donating to our expansion, please contact US at 920-459-3290.
